Barley and Vegetables Miso Soup
- 6 cups of water (1.5 l)
- ½ cup hulled barley
- 1 stalk celery diced
- 1 carrot grated
- ½ cup turnip grated
- 1 tsp turmeric (optional)
- coarse ground black pepper to taste (optional)
- 3 ½ tbsps Massawippi Townships miso diluted in the water
- Bring the water to the boil, add the barley and let simmer until cooked (about 15 minutes).
- Add the vegetables and spices. Let simmer 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Add the Townships Style Miso just before serving.
